autotwist features
Spring loaded
flippers
Our autotwist spreaders are equipped with flippers for faster positioning on the container. The flippers are very thin which makes it easy to land the spreader in narrow spaces.
Forklift
pockets
The spreader is standard equipped with 2 forklift pockets for easy transportation of the spreader around the terminal.
Gravity
lever
The gravity lever with its bright red color (for easy recognition) is of great importance to the operator. By simply watching the red gravity lever lowering on to the beam, the operator knows whether the twistlocks are locked/unlocked and whether it is safe to hoist the spreader.
Manual pin
drive
The manual pin drive on the spreader is used to lock/unlock the twistlocks. To switch to manual operation, the operator puts the gravity lever in the fixed position. The gravity lever will no longer actuate the twistlocks.
Operating
rod
To change the position of the twistlocks in manual position, the operator needs to put the operating rod on the manual pin drive and pull it sideways.
Landing
pin
Autotwist and RC Autotwist spreaders are equipped with a landing pin on each of the 4 corners of the spreader. All 4 pins have to be individually raised to enable the twistlocks to lock/unlock.
Wire Storage
hooks
The spreaders are equipped with special hooks to neatly store the wire ropes when the spreader is out of operation and parked on the quay.
Wire rope
extension block
If a container is unevenly loaded it will be tilted out of balance. To account for eccentric loads, we have designed a wire rope extension block, which can be mounted on every type of fixed spreader.
Lifting
lugs
Each spreader is equipped with 4 lifting lugs, making it easy to connect attachments to the spreader. This allows the spreader to lift unusual cargo that cannot be lifted with the twistlocks.
SIMPLY RELIABLE
The autotwist has a long history in container handling for use with ship & harbour cranes. One of the main advantages is the relatively short distance from the spreader to suspension point under the crane hook, making it ideal for applications ranging from handling small hatchcovers to container handling with ships’ cranes.
autotwist Options
Chain
Attachment
A chain attachment can be used for corner lifting with safety-lock. This is very useful for lifting damaged containers.
chain
storage
A storage container can be installed on the side of the spreader for stowing chains.
GRAVITY LEVER
The gravity lever with its bright red color (for easy recognition) is of great importance to the operator. By simply watching the red gravity lever lowering on to the beam, the operator knows whether the twistlocks are locked/unlocked and whether it is safe to hoist the spreader.
AT YOUR SERVICE
Our dedicated specialists travel to your site to troubleshoot your equipment whenever you need them. If you prefer to let your own staff do the work, we can provide a thorough analysis and will support your technicians from afar.
